 CAREER HIGHLIGHTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS

MASSACHUSETTS COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN

massart.edu

Worked as the project lead to develop and relaunch massart.edu in spring 2017.

After a two year process, we moved MassArt’s dated website from a proprietary content management system to Drupal. We added features and highlights that inspire engagement and discovery for our primary user, prospective undergraduate students.

Result: Monthly traffic has doubled since the launch.

Social Media Growth & Engagement

When I started at MassArt, there was no one managing or strategizing digital media content.

Result:

By creating social media campaigns, sourcing user generated content, and sharing stories that represent MassArt’s mission and values, I have increased our following:

• LinkedIn by 66%

• Twitter by 163%

• Facebook by 174%

• Instagram by 3771% (not a typo!)

I also worked successfully acquired the blue verifications badges for Facebook and Twitter.

System Workflows

To streamline our work and improve workflow processes, I have deployed and administered the following systems:

Thirdlight Chorus - a digital asset management system to house all of our creative assets. I used my MLS training to develop the taxonomy and metadata to facilitate the search functionality.

• JIRA Ticketing System - in the previous iteration of massart.edu, there were over 100 content managers who were often unfamiliar with the system. The website pages were dissimilar and delineated an inconsistent voice. With the help of IT, we launched a ticketing system overseen by the Web Developer and myself. Now, website issues are addressed and resolved with branding and voice in prime consideration.

• Monsido - this platform includes automated website accessibility testing and website maintenance solutions to improve website UX.

Additional successes include: Collaborating on the content strategy for the opening of the MassArt Art Museum, working as part of the Marketing and Communications team to place media hits, aiding the president on social media presence and content, implementing the Marketing/Communications student employee work program and managing all student workers, and much more!

THE MARY BAKER EDDY LIBRARY

mbelibrary.org

During my first year at The Mary Baker Eddy Library, I oversaw the redesign and development of the site to better reflect the deep resources available in the Archive, and the installations, exhibitions, and programming available to the public.

Women of the World Wednesday

As part of the content strategy for the Library, I developed a series called “Women of the World Wednesday” on our blog. It featured trailblazing women who like Mary Baker Eddy, were leaders and were not afraid to speak their mind or start a movement.

The series has been rebranded, but still exists today under the title, “Women of History.”

Social Media &
App Development

In addition to starting a blog to drive traffic to mbelibrary.org and the physical location of the Library, I also started the Library’s instagram account, developed the application - which showcased current exhibitions - and helped to produce new video content to support the Archive, programming, and social media initiatives.

Custom Websites

In addition to overseeing the web content production and design on facinghistory.org, I also built custom websites to aid educators in the classroom.

Two in particular were:

• Aftermath: War is Only Half the Story: Stories from the Aftermath Project. This website discussed the true cost of war through visceral photojournalism and educational resources.

• Two Who Dared: this website was used as a companion to Defying the Nazis: The Sharps’ War by Ken Burns, which tells the story of Martha and Waitstill Sharp, who worked to save Jews and refugees fleeing Nazi occupation.
